Kat and Josue are currently based in San Diego, California. Kat was born and raised in Guatemala, and Josue is originally from Detroit, Michigan. Their different upbringings and training styles are a huge part of what shapes their partnership today.
Kat’s dance journey began with ballet and contemporary, while Josue’s foundation started in breaking and hip hop. Both also share a background in ballroom, which has helped refine their technique, musicality, and connection. Their diverse training allows them to blend styles seamlessly and bring a unique dynamic to their movement.
Their values center around creating a safe space for dancers to explore, grow, and create, no matter their level. They believe in pulling knowledge and technique from every style they’ve studied and honoring each one through the way they move and teach.
More than anything, Kat and Josue represent love and passion — for the art of dance, for constant learning, for their community, and for each other. Their goal is to inspire others by showing that when different backgrounds and styles come together, something truly beautiful can be created.
